Is the Colorado killer....evil or the result of Antidepressants and their Side Effects

I normally would not post on this subject but as an herbalist with some experience, I feel the need to post on what happened in Colorado on Friday..  I feel so strongly on this subject, that I had to write this blog.

Take a look at his picture this morning with his hair wildly colored and focus on his eyes, lost.......the eyes of someone who checked out of reality. They say the line between genius and fine.  This may be one example of why someone coined this phrase.  Most people are saying that James Holmes who has been said to be brilliant is evil...and true evil, I do believe exists in this world.......BUT

Is this young man, James Holmes evil?

His deed....was horrendous and tragic...he needs to be put away to protect others ... but is this young man really evil?

Consider the next facts of recent suicides and school shootings. These past troubled kids either killed themselves or killed many others:  This factor is showing up in mothers who kill their children as well.

I have a girl friend who was a guard in the prison system years back. The doctors put her on a antidepressant.  One day within a month of starting the drug, she told her mother she was going to shoot someone at the prison. Her mom called a friend of hers to come over immediately. He asked her what she was doing as she loaded her guns. Target shooting she said....he asked her where she was going again. She wouldn't tell him but he took her guns away and took her to the doctor. They immediately took her off the drug. She was fine after that. She is my best friend and very normal, except when she was put on that drug. Given that most of the men coming back from the wars, experienced in guns, are being heavily drugged for PTSS, you will see more of people going nuts.  That is the reality of the side effects that warp the mind further.  Here are a few facts on recent suicides and mass killings. These are only a few examples.

7-year-old Macauley Showalter died from the use of Ritalin and three other psychotropic drugs.

12-year-old Adrian Wade committed suicide after taking Strattera for ADHD.

15-year-old Leanne Bessner was prescribed Concerta for ADHD. After two months of taking the medication, Leanne committed suicide.

12-year-old Candace Downing was prescribed Zoloft. Her mother Mathy found her hanging from the valance of her bed.

20-year-old Meg Blanchard [Gwen Olsen’s niece] was prescribed Effexor. After failing to hang herself from the ceiling fan, she burned herself alive using lantern oil.

16-year-old Jeff Wiese was prescribed Prozac. On March 21, 2005 Jeff killed his grandfather and girlfriend, seven Red Lake High School students, wounded over a dozen more, and then killed himself.

18-year-old Eric Harris was prescribed Luvox. He and his friend Dylan proceeded to kill 13 students and teachers at Columbine High School before killing themselves.

15-year-old Kip Kinkel was prescribed Prozac. On May 21st, 1998, Kip went into his high school in Springfield, Oregon and killed four people while wounding 23 others.

23-year-old Cho Seung-Hui was prescribed antidepressant medication. Experts say he exhibited the classic signs of “manic anti-depressant-induced behavior.” On April 16, 2007, Seung-Hui murdered 33 fellow students and professors at Virginia Tech University.

Antidepressant medication is the common ingredient in nearly every school shooting in history.  It remains to be seen if this young man was taking prescription drugs or street drugs at some point in recent times.

I know from experience with a family member, that children show signs early in childhood of having problems. Parents tend to ignore it by saying that child is going through a phase, he will get over it. They ignore the signs of depression or metal disturbance in their child.  If they do notice it, the child is put on psch meds that make them worse not better.

I studied Orthomolecular medicine years ago, after I watched how that treatment helped my girlfriend's child. It was a new science then with only a few doctors covering the entire US. There was no research on what the normal brain pattern was in a child. The research was in the beginning on adult mental abnormalities. She went against standard medicine, to take her child to an Orthomolecular Physician because she believed her child had a mental disturbance caused by that child being physically sick for months. I went through that time with her seeing her struggle and her dedication to her child. She went against friends, her mainstream doctors, to get this new therapy. Myself and God were her only support. Her child is well today and healthy, because she knew it was the right way to treat her child. In Todays' world, she would have been forced by the court system to put her child on drugs, or have her child taken away by the system. In Todays system, her child would be on adult medication and still messed up with side effects including suicide and abnormal thoughts.

Orthomolecular medicine is treating a mental illness by administering nutritional therapy or amino acid therapy to correct the brain imbalance. Often mental phobias and abnormal behavior  in children is caused by an amino acid imbalance.

That amino acid imbalance may come from genetics, from nutritional deficiencies, from sickness, from taking street drugs or prescribed drugs.   Most often, doctors do the easy fix, put them on drugs, rather than get to the real cause of the kids problems.

My son when he was growing up had a nasty temper and lost it frequently. It did not help his father and I were going through a divorce. In this day and age he would have simply been put on ritalin. We found out he had a lazy eye, and got eye therapy. He did well in school after that and is now an engineer. His temper turned around when he was a teen. He is now very well balanced and easy going.  His turn around had nothing to do with drugs, but he naturally became more calm as time went on. Most of his temper problems were probably the result of the nasty fighting and the resulting divorce.  With the divorce rate in this country, many kids are sad, mad, and distraught over their parents divorce. We should look to the real reasons for their sadness or anger, not just put them on a drug. We should look to the way we are feeding our children to see if bad behavior is that result. Children are not ill due to a lack of Ritalin or any other medication. There is a reason for their depression or their anger.  The problem is insurance does not pay for therapy, it is too expensive. Instead they give drugs, costing several dollars a piece but it is covered.  The insurance compnay stance is why pay for therapy when a simple pill stops the behavior......despite the deaths and research showing the dangerous side effects.

Even in family, with no divorce or trauma, often kids, have a time when their brain chemistry becomes imbalanced. It should be the role of the parent, to find out where and what is causing this imbalance, not just put them on drugs first. Even if they have a genetic amino acid imbalance, diet and environment can make it worse or better. Orthomolecular medicine works with bipolar and other mental conditions with a great deal of success but is expensive. They take tests, blood and urine, to see where the brain chemistry is imbalanced. In our brain chemistry, there is a normal brain pattern with amino acids. Some amino acids make us excited, some calm us down, but together in the right balance, we are normal. When one or more amino acids are in excess or is depleted, then mental symptoms occur.  This can cause anything from depression to someone going out and killing themselves or others.

I had the opportunity to see what amino acid therapy can do because of my friend, who sought the therapy for her child who had some problems after being sick for a long time. That child is strong mentally today and leads a normal, healthy life. This child, might have been placed on high powered adult drugs today, and lost in drug side effects. I know from personal experience, that this works. That child had an amino acid imbalance in their brain chemistry from being physically sick for months, which then developed into a mental imbalance. My mother always said if you have a mental problem, look to the physical and if you have a physical problem, look to the mental. Our body must be in balance so that we can be in balance mentally as well.

Kids now are put on drugs, forced to by teachers, staff, and doctors rather than find out if the kid has a learning problem or if the kids parents are going through a divorce.  They are given over to  the standard system of medicine that puts them on drugs as young as 3 years old. Kids are put on adult drugs that are not even properly tests on adults, much less children.  The medical system has now declared that kids with nasty temper tantrums need to be on a drug.  This is true fact folks.

This next except comes from a USA Today report, "

About 10% of Americans — or 27 million people — were taking antidepressants in 2005, the last year for which data were available at the time the study was written. That's about twice the number in 1996, according to the study of nearly 50,000 children and adults in today's Archives of General Psychiatry. Yet the majority weren't being treated for depression. Half of those taking antidepressants used them for back pain, nerve pain, fatigue, sleep difficulties or other problems, the study says.

Among users of antidepressants, the percentage receiving psychotherapy fell from 31.5% to less than 20%, the study says.

About 80% of patients were treated by doctors other than psychiatrists.

In America, the medical system gives out drugs like candy often with no health or mental history exam. "
You say you are depressed, here is a prescription...easy as that folks. This is a blight in our health care system and doctors have a huge role in this blight. They encourage all their patients to be put on a drug, one sort or another.  I went to Kaiser years ago, when an elderly friend died. I was depressed at the time with the man's death.  All they did was offer me a prescription, and put it on my health history which remains today. I got through it in time with the help of God.  I did not take the prescription because I don't believe that medicine should be the first step. Grief is a process you need to go through to heal folks.  You need to get out the anger and pain of losing someone you love. You need to experience it so you can heal.  Drugs numb your emotions so that that anger and grief stay in your heart and soul, causing you pain years later. You keep the pain locked up and it eats away at your life and health. I have in counseling, over and over, seen physical problems caused years later from unresolved grief and anger. It is one of the main blocks in healing. You can not get well, with locked up anger, pain and grief.

I would say that this young man may have been on prescription drugs at one point or another for either a genetic mental disorder or one that developed  recently.  No one is normal who goes out and kills people in a movie theater.  He may understand what he did, but that does not make him sane or normal. He is a product of either genetic imbalance or some other factor that took a brilliant young man down the path to becoming a killer.

Is he evil and I do believe evil exists.....or is he the product of a antidepressant like the others who have killed above?  We will know later on when the facts come out in court.  There is more mental illness and illness cause from prescription drug use, than evil out there. There is one thing, the antidepressants will turn lose the killer inside you, if you have broken brain chemistry.  Brain chemistry imbalances are not the deficiency of drugs.....but you would think they are by the way they are given out by doctors in this country. If you would like to know more about Orthomolecular medicine, go to my site at  and search out Orthomolecular medicine in Google.

I can assure you, your doctor will not tell you about it because they are making too much from the sale of antidepressants.  It is a trillion dollar industry which makes money for the drug companies and the doctors themselves.

Signing off, Kate Freer

Wow, thanks for sharing this information. I have a 12 year old son who has been on ADHD meds for 3 years now. He talks about death frequently, and seems to not have any fear of losing his own life. He didn't talk that way before the meds, but natural attempts to correct the issues didn't seem to be getting the job done. Meds were like a small miracle at the time, but there are side effects. On the meds, he barely eats which must have had a terrible effect not just on his growth, but from a nutritional stand point as well. I plan to research Orthomolecular Medicine and Amino Acid imbalance. Thank you so much!

Moringa is rich in many vitamins, including Vitamin A, several forms of Vitamin B, Vitamin C, Vitamin D and Vitamin E. In fact, it has more of these vitamins than a variety of foods that all claim to be excellent sources of them, such as carrots, oranges and milk.
